NO mud in the muddy puddles! That, I am relieved to report, is the only area in which the spanking new Peppa Pig World veers off course with its incredible attention to detail.

It’s like you have wandered on to the set of the kids’ TV show from Channel 5’s Milkshake. Or the toys you might have lying around at home have magically become larger than life. Everything is that realistic.

Peppa Pig World is the latest addition to Paultons Family Theme Park, which is just off the M27 close to Southampton and on the way to Bournemouth.
It’s an extension to the existing theme park and is dedicated to all things Peppa... and George... and Zoe... and Suzy. You get the picture.

There are seven rides which will all be familiar to fans, including Windy Castle, Miss Rabbit’s Helicopter Flight and Peppa’s Big Balloon Ride. And all are suitable for youngsters accompanied by Mum or Dad.

But be warned, George’s Dinosaur Adventure, complete with miniature smoking volcanoes, seemed to be as popular with adults as kids. Youngsters above 3ft 7in can enjoy it on their own, but it seemed full of parents the day we were there.

Apart from the rides, there is Peppa’s house to visit, photo opportunities in Madame Gazelle’s School House and the Magic Photo studios, and a life-size George and Peppa at certain times of the day. And for a change of pace there is more outdoor fun at Mr Potato’s Playground.

In case it rains the whole family can head indoors. Mum and Dad can put their feet up and grab a coffee from, yes you guessed it, Daddy Pig’s Big Tummy Café, while the kids can enjoy an excellent indoor play area where the rocket ship is a real standout.

And then there’s those muddy puddles. Anybody familiar with the stories will know jumping about in them is one of Peppa and brother George’s favourite hobbies.
Well the mud’s been removed and in its place are fountains and lots of water, so a swimming costume and towel, or at least a change of clothes, is recommended.
If you’ve got older children who think they are too cool for Peppa, simply stroll through to the main area of the park where there are more than 60 rides and attractions.

●Paultons Family Theme Park is now open daily and Peppa Pig World opens on April 9.
Tickets cost £21 for adults and kids under 3ft 3in tall get in free. Family tickets cost £80 or £74 if purchased online. See peppapigworld.co.uk.
