GLAMOUR came to Glasgow last week in the shapely form of screen star Scarlett Johansson, says CHARLOTTE CIVIL The actress, who is in Scotland filming scenes for the science fiction movie Under The Skin, celebrated her 27th birthday with cast and crew in the unlikely environs of Port Glasgow.
The former shipbuilding area on the south bank of the River Clyde is a far cry from Hollywood but just a short drive from the city centre with its imposing Victorian architecture.
Glasgow also boasts some top museums, including the Gallery of Modern Art and Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum(above) which is currently showing a self-portrait by the popular Scottish artist Jack Vettriano.

The city is a great place to shop, too. For jewellery and antiques head to Argyll Arcade which dates from 1827.
For designer wear The Italian Centre in Ingram Street boasts the UK’s first Versace store.
