WHAT IS YOUR MOST MEMORABLE HOLIDAY?

I went to India and stayed in the spectacular Oberoi Rajvilas hotel in Jaipur, which is just the most beautiful place.

The hotel is an oasis of calm and then conversely you step outside and experience the bustling markets and animals wandering around and lots of exotic smells, which awaken all of the senses. It was a great holiday.

AND YOUR WORST?

In Mexico once there was the most torrential rainstorm in the middle of the night and I could hear dripping water. The next thing I was looking at the sky; the roof had literally fallen on to my bed.

We had to spend the rest of the night in the corridor, as the hotel was fully booked. The holiday could only really get better after that. I have a pretty happy disposition and always try to make the best of things.

WHICH GADGET IS ESSENTIAL FOR YOUR TRAVELS?

My iPad 3 for emailing and internet while I am travelling - it's so light and easy to transport in your handbag. It is also great for playing Disney DVDs for my little boy to help keep him amused.

HOW DO YOU SPEND TIME ON YOUR HOLIDAY?

Relaxing with family and friends, swimming, exploring, eating beautiful food and unwinding in the sun.

WHAT'S THE BEST BOOK YOU'VE TAKEN ON HOLIDAY?

Shantaram by Gregory David Roberts. It is a fascinating read about his time in India.

WHERE WOULD YOU REVISIT?

Sao Paulo for the Interlagos Grand Prix, which is my favourite on the F1 circuit as it's so vibrant and exciting. One of my favourite places in Brazil is a small town called Angra Dos Reis.

There is an amazing hotel called the Pestana Angra where you can ski, dive and relax in sumptuous luxury.

WHERE NEXT?

We're going to Argentina and Uruguay in September for riding, then Barbados to see my family in their plantation house where I will spend time with Indio, family and friends.
