WHAT IS YOUR MOST MEMORABLE HOLIDAY? I celebrated my 40th birthday at a wonderful place called Kasbah Tamadot in Morocco's Atlas mountains about an hour's drive from Marrakech. We rode through spectacular scenery and hearing the call to prayer ring out from the minarets was magical.

AND YOUR WORST? Spending the night in a hotel with paper-thin walls and being kept awake by the loud snoring of the man next door. I'm not going to say where it was or he'll know it was him.

WHICH GADGET IS ESSENTIAL? With my work I'm a little bit tied to laptops and smart phones but in an ideal world I wouldn't take any gadgets on holiday at all. My idea of a perfect break is having the chance to read lots of books.

BEST BOOK? At the moment I'm reading a very amusing book by Thomas Mann called Confessions of Felix Krull, Confidence Man.

HOW DO YOU SPEND YOUR TIME ON HOLIDAY? In the past I considered myself a bit of a cultural city break person but now I've discovered the joys of lying on a beach and gazing out to sea.

WHERE WOULD YOU REVISIT? I'd definitely go back to Morocco and to Cancun in Mexico, where I recently spent a few days soaking up the sun. Having experienced two cruises with P&O I'd also be happy to go back to sea for longer, perhaps crossing the Atlantic by ship or even taking a world cruise.

WHERE NEXT? Hopefully South America. And I will be spending quite a bit of time in New York as I plan to put on a show there.
