BRUSSELS: A great holiday destination
Holiday schedules are becoming even more crammed and hectic as we approach the summer, so why not take a few days off and sample some of the best European culture out there?

With so many people flocking to Paris, Rome and Berlin it can sometimes seem like there’s nowhere left to cover – at least nowhere that won’t leave you stranded in between flocks of other tourists.

Brussels could be the perfect solution. There are hundreds of reasons why you should visit this stunning European city this summer and these are just a few of them:

Great price

It’s much less expensive to visit that many other European cities. Sometimes you can feel a little overexposed to the sheer amounts of tourists wandering through the centres, streets and old towns of cities like Paris and Rome, at the constant mercy of expensive restaurants and tourist hangouts.

On the other hand, breaks in Brussels can cost a fraction of the price and accommodation right in the centre of town can see you returning home with money still in your pocket.

Beautiful sights

From the legendary Mannequin Pis statue, to the Atomium, countless museums and art galleries; Brussels is the place to go for anyone interested in truly unspoilt and authentic European culture.

Brussels is also the home of many different varieties of legendary Belgian beer. If you’re looking to sample some delicious and truly unique flavours and blends at great prices, then this city is perfect.

Dine on authentic cuisine in one of the city’s hundreds of time-old restaurants serving wonderful Belgian cuisine, such as grilled meats and fish, and spend the rest of the evening sampling the beer menu!

See it by train

Belgium has a fantastic rail network and European rail holidays are available to those wanting nothing more than to relax in luxurious surroundings and take all the city has to offer.

Reaching Brussels from London could not be easier. The train departs from Kings Cross and whisks you over to France in under two hours. From the French town of Lille, it travels into Brussels, putting you right in the centre of this fascinating city in no time at all.

Travelling on the Eurostar means that you’ll save the stress of airport terminals which leave you hanging around waiting for your luggage. Door to door, it couldn’t be faster.

More stars for less

Returning again to accommodation, many top hotels are available within a stone’s throw of both the Eurostar terminal and the centre of Brussels itself. Shopping around a little before you leave could see you picking up a bargain.

If you’re looking into a few relaxing and stimulating city breaks Brussels will leave you wanting to return time and time again.
